On Thursday, the Administration eased Covid-19 restrictions, by allowing opening of schools for students of Classes 10 to 12 from February 01, 2022. However, Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit, who is the Administrator of Union Territory Chandigarh, appealed to people to follow Covid-related protocols and guidelines at public places. India registers over 2.5 lakh fresh COVID-19 cases, 385 deaths in last 24 hrs

India reported 2,58,089 fresh COVID-19 cases and 385 deaths due to the infection in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Monday. The total number of COVID-19 infections in the country has moved up to 3,73,80,253 including 16,56,341 active cases. Active cases account for 4.43 per cent of the total infections.
