Airtel to source 23,000 MWh renewables by Q4 for six Nxtra data centres

Telecom operator Bharti Airtel on Monday(4th of September 2023) announced the plan of purchasing 23,000 MWh(MegaWatt hour) of renewable energy by the 4th quarter of FY24, for its data centre subsidiary, Nxtra. This will be done by obtaining stakes in 2 renewable energy project companies — Vibrant Energy Holdings and Continuum Green India. The purchase will be done from an open access route where the company (Airtel) will obtain a stake in Continuum Green, that will supply green power from solar and wind power projects to data centres in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
