In accordance with the National Policy for Rare Diseases (NPRD), 2021, the Government of India has made Assam Medical College & Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh, a Center of Excellence (CoE) for Rare Diseases. In a formal statement released on Tuesday, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Rare Disease Cell) approved AMCH's inclusion as one of the top government tertiary institutions with resources for rare disease diagnosis, prevention, and treatment.
