The Assam Cabinet has approved the report of the Group of Ministers (GoM) on granting Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to six major communities – Tai Ahom, Chutia, Moran, Motok, Koch-Rajbongshi and Tea Tribes (Adivasis) – of the state.
