IAF provides vital aid by airlifting 44 people from Chaten, North Sikkim, which devastated by landslide

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on June 6 launched a vital aerial relief and evacuation operation in North Sikkim, airlifting 44 stranded individuals from the landslide-affected area of Chaten and delivering over a tonne of essential supplies. Using an MI-17 helicopter, the IAF carried out sorties from Pakyong Greenfield Airport, transporting 1,300 kg of relief materials and five officials from the Food and Civil Supplies Department to the cut-off region. Bhutan delegation in Assam, Meghalaya on 6-day visit

A nine-member delegation from Bhutan's Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) arrived on Saturday at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport here on a six-day visit to Assam and Meghalaya, an official said. Silver futures price rose: Prices rise in India

New Delhi, June 6: Silver prices rose by Rs 80 to Rs 1,01,460 per kg in futures trade on Thursday as participants increased their bets. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the price of silver contracts for July delivery rose by Rs 80, or 0.08 percent, to Rs 1,01,460 per kg in a business turnover of 17,560 lots. Analysts said fresh deals by participants led to the rise in silver prices. Globally, silver was trading 0.10 percent lower at $34.46 per ounce in New York.

Olympic bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain has unveiled her boxing academy in Barchandra in north Guwahati and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a grant of Rs 2 crore for its development. Set up on land purchased by Borgohain in 2021, the Lovlina Borgohain Boxing Academy, inaugurated on Wednesday, aims to provide grassroots boxers with professional infrastructure, including a 26x26 boxing ring and a fully equipped gym.
