The Orissa High Court has directed the state government to consider deploying heavy-duty machinery or elephants to pull the chariots during Rath Yatra in Puri later this month so as to prevent the gathering of hundreds of people during the Covid-19 pandemic. While the youngest victim to commit suicide was aged 10 years and the oldest victim was aged 70 years.
