As a result of this, rising waters of the Dikhou River have disrupted rail connectivity in the Simlaguri area of Sivasagar district. With water flowing over the railway tracks, Northeast Frontier Railway has suspended train services indefinitely on the Simlaguri–Namti Ali and Simlaguri–Selenghat sections. According to railway authorities, the floodwaters of the Dikhou River have inundated the premises of Simlaguri Railway Station, the railway residential area, and the railway tracks.
