Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri held a meeting on Monday with senior officials of Ministry of Petroleum snd Natural Gas and leaders of our energy PSUs to review the action taken on the decisions from the 11th Brainstorming Session in Gurugram and the 12th Brainstorming Session in Duliajan, Assam, to strengthen India’s energy sector.
Taking to social media later, the Union Minister said the discussions focussed on the progress in the implementation of the visionary Samudra Manthan, the National Offshore Exploration Scheme to harness India’s offshore energy potential, with an outlay of Rs 84,084 crore through financial year, 2030-31.
He said a year-wise roadmap is now being finalised to drive accelerated drilling, seismic surveys and rig deployment across the KG, Mahanadi, Andaman and Cauvery basins by energy Maharatna companies, ONGC and Oil India Limited.
“Backing this effort is a dedicated ONGC-led JV for drillship capacity, addressing a key infrastructure bottleneck through shared investment and long-term chartering,” Puri said.
The Duliajan Feeder Line and National Gas Grid link of NRL are unlocking stranded Northeast gas reserves, while feedstock mapping and cooperative clusters are strengthening CBG aggregation and market access, the Union Minister stated.
