TVS Motor Company celebrated World Motorcycle Day by bringing together more than 1,000 riders across 17 cities in India for a nationwide ride aimed at promoting safe and responsible motorcycling. The initiative saw participation from members of the TVS Apache Owners Group (AOG) and TVS Ronin riding communities, highlighting the company’s focus on fostering a strong riding culture while encouraging road safety awareness. The rides were centred on key safety messages, including the use of protective riding gear, adherence to traffic rules, responsible riding behaviour and respect for local communities and public spaces. TVS Motor said the campaign reflected its belief that the spirit of motorcycling extends beyond adventure and performance to include safety and discipline on the road.
Speaking on the occasion, Vimal Sumbly, Head – Premium Business, TVS Motor Company, said motorcycling represents freedom, responsibility and camaraderie, and noted that the celebration coincides with the 20th anniversary of the TVS Apache brand. The company said TVS Apache now has a global customer base of over 6.5 million riders, while its riding community has crossed 500,000 registered members. Bengaluru hosted the flagship ride with participation from more than 100 customers and community members. The event featured rider interactions, curated experiences and discussions with experienced motorcyclists.
The initiative is expected to resonate strongly in Guwahati, where motorcycle ownership and riding communities have grown steadily in recent years. With increasing awareness about road safety and responsible riding among young riders in Assam and the Northeast, campaigns led by major manufacturers such as TVS Motor could help strengthen safe riding practices while further expanding engagement within the region’s growing premium motorcycle market.
