Turkish Airlines has been named “Best Airline in Europe” for the 11th time at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, strengthening its position in the global aviation market. The awards, regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the aviation industry, were presented at a ceremony in London on September 18.
The airline also secured the “World’s Best Business Class Onboard Catering” award for the 10th time and “Best Airline in Southern Europe” for the 13th time. With five additional awards across Economy and Business Class categories in Europe and Southern Europe, Turkish Airlines received a total of eight accolades at the ceremony. It also moved up to fifth place in Skytrax’s “World’s Best Airlines” ranking.
Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee Prof Murat Şeker said the recognition demonstrated international appreciation of the airline’s service quality and culinary offering, adding that passenger evaluations made the awards particularly significant. Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted also praised the carrier’s product, service hospitality and business-class catering, including its partnership with Turkish DO&CO.
In Kolkata, the latest recognition could support Turkish Airlines’ positioning among international travellers from eastern India, particularly those seeking connectivity through Istanbul to Europe and other global destinations. The airline, which holds a Guinness World Record for its extensive network spanning six continents, continues to focus on sustainability, technology, innovation and passenger experience.
