Tecno has introduced a luxury-themed version of its Pova 8 Pro 5G in partnership with Italian lifestyle brand Tonino Lamborghini. The limited-edition smartphone is the result of the brands’ first smartphone collaboration and brings a number of exclusive cosmetic changes while retaining the core hardware of the regular Pova 8 Pro 5G.
The special edition features a Tonino Lamborghini Black finish with red accents and a hexagonal design pattern on the back. Tecno’s Pulse Line design has also been carried forward, with a mirror-like structure underneath that reflects light and gives the rear panel a distinctive appearance.
The Tonino Lamborghini name is displayed in metallic lettering on the rear, while a custom ‘L’ logo appears on the phone’s Alive Matrix Display. These additions give the special edition a design that sets it apart from the standard model.
Under the hood, the smartphone runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16. Tecno says it will receive two Android version upgrades as well as three years of security updates.
The display is a 6.78-inch HyperLux AMOLED panel with a 2,644×1,208-pixel resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and 429ppi pixel density. The screen-to-body ratio is 93.18 percent, while peak brightness can reach 4,500 nits. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
The handset is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G processor and Arm Mali-G615 MC2 GPU. It comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. With Tecno’s memory expansion feature, users can increase the available memory to up to 24GB using virtual RAM.
The rear camera system includes a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-700C primary sensor with optical image stabilisation and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. The Alive Matrix Display is integrated into the camera module and can be customised. For selfies and video calls, the phone gets a 13-megapixel front camera.
In terms of connectivity, the device supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and NFC. It also includes a USB Type-C port and infrared remote control. Other features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, G-sensor, e-compass and gyroscope.
A 6,500mAh battery powers the smartphone, with 45W fast charging support. The handset measures 162.48 x 77.27 x 7.39mm and weighs 189 grams.
Tecno has not announced the price or sale date of the limited-edition Pova 8 Pro 5G. Details regarding its availability in India are also yet to be revealed.
For comparison, the standard Pova 8 Pro 5G was launched in India last month for Rs. 49,999, while the Tonino Lamborghini Edition retains largely the same hardware with its focus mainly on the exclusive design.
