The selection of Siliguri as the host city underscores its growing importance as a commercial gateway to North Bengal and the Northeast. With a thriving tea, logistics, retail and trading ecosystem, the city has emerged as a key hub for MSMEs. Recognition of local entrepreneur Krishan Dalmia also highlights the increasing contribution of Siliguri-based enterprises to regional industrial growth, reinforcing the city’s position as an important centre for entrepreneurship and business expansion beyond India’s major metropolitan markets.
