Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts of West Bengal and neighbouring state Sikkim are under red alert after the India Meteorological Department forecasted the regions to experience heavy rainfall starting September 21. Following this, heavy downpour lashed over the hills, as well as the plains, since last night causing a flood-like situation in several areas.Reportedly, the incessant rainfall led to several landslides between a large area between Sevoke police station and Sevokeshwari Kali Bari.
