MSDE and MHI sign MoU to facilitate training in engineering trades

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create a collaborative ecosystem for imparting skill development training in the capital goods sector. The partnership is aimed at facilitating training in several engineering trades through Qualification Packs developed by MHI related Sector Skill Councils (like Automotive, Infrastructure, Instrumentation and Capital Goods) under the Scheme for Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Capital Goods Sector Phase II. In line with the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's ambitious program 'Mission Karmayogi,' which is a first-of-its-kind experiment in the direction of capacity building and modernizing the mindset, methodology and skillset of government employees, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship recently partnered with the Indian School of Business to conduct capacity-building programs for MSDE officials. A total of 120 officers across divisions under MSDE would be undergoing a comprehensive five-day-long residential training across ISB Hyderabad and Mohali campuses. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) organised a five-day-long self-defence workshop for all its women employees, in partnership with Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Skill Council (SPEFL-SC). The participants were trained in self-defence techniques, mental agility and being aware of their surroundings to avoid possible danger. More than 50 women employees of the ministry participated in the session, which commenced on March 28, 2022.
