JICA signs grant agreement of 4 billion Yen

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of India, to provide aid of up to 4,016,000,000 Japanese Yen for the Project for the Improvement of Power Supply in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The project is targeted to complete by February 2024. The executing agency for the project is Andaman and Nicobar Administration. The objective of the project is to utilize the power generated from renewable energy sources and stabilize the power supply in South Andaman by introducing necessary equipment and facilities such as a storage battery system, grid interconnection cassette, SCADA, buildings, etc.…

Under Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JICA) funded North East Road Network Connectivity Improvement Project Phase 4,the foundation stone laying ceremony for NH208 from Kailasahar to Khowai, was virtually held.Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and Governor of TripuraShri Ramesh BaisSarbanandaattended the programme. The 80km long NH208 from Kailasahar to Khowaisection is implemented by National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL)with financial support by Government of Japan, amounting to JPY 14,926 million (approximately Rs 982 crore)as part of the regional connectivity improvement in the North Eastern States.
