On Thursday a total of 125 passengers on a Milan-Amritsar global flight were found to be Covid-positive when tested on arrival in Amritsar. Officials said there were a total of 179 passengers on the charter flight YU-661 that landed at the Amritsar airport at around 1.30 PM yesterday. India will begin granting fresh tourist visas to foreigners who enter the country via chartered flights starting from October 15, the government said on Thursday. It will also allow foreign tourists to enter the country by flights other than chartered aircraft from November 15 onwards. “MHA has decided to begin granting fresh tourist visas for foreigners coming to India through chartered flights with effect from October 15. The Centre on Sunday extended the suspension on international scheduled commercial flights till September 30 owing to the coronavirus diseases (Covid-19) pandemic.
