The government officially confirmed that prime Minister Narendra Modi would launch 5G services in some selected cities on October 1 and initiate the sixth edition of India Mobile Congress 2022 in New Delhi, on September 30. According to the release, 5G will be rolled out in cities selected by the prime minister, gradually covering the entire country over the next few years. The trial utilized 5G in the 3.5GHz spectrum band allocated by the Govt. for 5G trials, to provide rural broadband connectivity in Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
