Sony raises the bar with Alpha 7R VI, brings 66.8MP flagship camera to India

Sony India has expanded its premium Alpha camera portfolio with the launch of the Alpha 7R VI, a flagship full-frame mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera featuring a 66.8-megapixel back-illuminated Exmor RS CMOS sensor and the latest BIONZ XR2 image processing engine. Designed for professional photographers and filmmakers, the new camera combines ultra-high resolution, AI-powered subject recognition, blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 30 frames per second, and advanced 8K video recording capabilities. Sony also introduced the XLR-A4 XLR adaptor, enabling professional-grade 32-bit float audio recording for enhanced video production.

The Alpha 7R VI offers up to 16 stops of dynamic range, 5-axis optical image stabilization, Real-time Recognition AF+ with skeletal-based subject tracking, dual USB Type-C ports, a high-capacity NP-SA100 battery, and support for Sony’s Camera Authenticity Solution based on the C2PA standard. For video creators, it supports 8K 30p and full-frame 4K recording at up to 120p, alongside improved stabilization and professional audio integration. Sony India Head of Imaging & Professional Solution Business MukeshSrivastava said the new model reflects the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge imaging technology for creators seeking uncompromising performance.

The Alpha 7R VI will be available across Sony Center stores, ShopatSC.com and Amazon from July 3 at an MRP of ₹4,70,990. As a limited-period launch offer, customers purchasing the camera will receive a complimentary NP-SA100 battery worth ₹10,490. Sony has also introduced compatible accessories, including the VG-C6 vertical grip, BC-SAD1 battery charger, DC-C2 power coupler and the XLR-A4 audio adaptor, to enhance professional workflows.
