On August 26, 2008, Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL) established a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Oragadam, Chennai. Over 15 years later, the company has produced over 2.5 million Renault and Nissan cars in India for domestic and export markets. The plant is set to launch six new models, including two electric vehicles, in the coming years.
RNAIPL has achieved 15 milestones in 15 years, including being the first dedicated Renault Nissan Alliance manufacturing plant, producing over 100,000 vehicles annually, and manufacturing 20 models. The company plans to manufacture six new models, including two EVs, as part of a USD 600 million investment by the Renault Nissan Alliance in India. RNAIPL exports over 1.15 million cars to 108 countries and aims to become carbon neutral by 2045, renewable energy source 60%, and water-positive by 2030.
CSR projects have positively impacted over 100,000 people in local communities.
