Renault India, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Renault Group, continued its strong growth trajectory by recording its ninth consecutive month of wholesale growth in May 2026, extending a positive run that began in September 2025. The automaker reported cumulative wholesale sales of 38,225 units between September 2025 and May 2026, marking a significant 46 per cent increase compared to the corresponding period last year. The performance highlights the company’s steady expansion in the Indian passenger vehicle market amid intense competition.
According to VAAHAN data, Renault was among only two passenger vehicle manufacturers in the country to register positive retail sales growth in May 2026. The company also posted a robust 64 per cent year-on-year rise in wholesales during the month, reflecting strong customer demand and improving market acceptance of its product portfolio. Renault India said the sustained momentum was driven by its continued focus on offering products tailored to Indian consumers while strengthening its presence across the country. The company’s performance comes at a time when several automakers are facing challenges in maintaining sales growth amid changing market dynamics.
In Guwahati, Renault’s positive sales trend mirrors growing consumer interest in personal mobility across Northeast India. Automobile dealers in Guwahati have reported steady enquiries for compact and value-driven vehicles, with improving infrastructure and rising aspirations supporting demand in the region’s passenger vehicle segment.
