Rapido, India’s leading commute app, has launched the “DaayittorJatra” initiative, in partnership with the Assam State Election Commission, to promote civic engagement during the Indian General Elections 2024, aiming to strengthen the nation’s democratic fabric. As part of this historic endeavor, Rapido pledges to provide free bike taxi rides to voters across Assam, encompassing major cities such as Jorhat and Guwahati. Rapido’s service available on April 19th and May 7th.
Rapido is offering free rides to voters on election day using the code ‘VOTENOW’, aiming to facilitate voting rights and ensure a more inclusive process. The initiative aligns with Rapido’s nationwide campaign, which deploys over 10 lakh captains across over 100 cities. Rapido’s partnership with the Assam State Election Commission demonstrates its commitment to driving change for a better society.
This initiative empowers and encourages the voter population of Assamto to exercise their democratic right by casting their vote. Rapido’s Co-founder Pavan Guntupalli said, “Our Rapido captains in Assam are more than just drivers; they are ambassadors of civic engagement, enabling greater voter turnout and promoting a more representative electoral system in the world’s largest democracy.”
