Rapido has partnered with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) to boost nationwide awareness and citizen participation in the Government of India’s Rahveer Scheme, an initiative aimed at encouraging timely assistance to road accident victims during the critical Golden Hour. The collaboration was announced in the presence of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, senior ministry officials and Rapido Co-founder AravindSanka. As part of the initiative, more than four lakh Rapido Captains and consumers from across the country took the Rahveer Pledge through the Rapido platform, creating a Guinness World Record. The move is aimed at promoting road safety, responsible citizenship and timely support for accident victims.
Addressing the event, Gadkari said road safety is a shared responsibility and citizen participation is crucial in reducing fatalities on Indian roads. He appreciated Rapido for using its extensive captain network and technology platform to support the national initiative. Rapido said it will leverage its presence across more than 400 cities and its large mobility captain community to spread awareness about the scheme through in-app education, digital engagement, social media campaigns and on-ground outreach programmes. The Rahveer Scheme seeks to encourage citizens to assist road accident victims during the Golden Hour, when immediate intervention can significantly improve survival and recovery outcomes. Rapido said it will integrate road safety messaging across multiple consumer and captain touchpoints to ensure sustained awareness nationwide.
In Kolkata, the initiative is expected to gain traction among app-based mobility users and riders in the city, where road safety remains a key concern amid rising traffic density. Industry observers believe awareness campaigns involving mobility platforms such as Rapido could help encourage quicker public response during road emergencies while strengthening citizen participation in road safety efforts.
