Prime Minister Narendra Modi took part in International Day of Yoga celebrations along with 15,000 people at the Mysore Palace Ground on the occasion of 8th International Day of Yoga. Yoga is not for one person, but for the entire humanity, thus the theme was Yoga for Humanity. Describing the ‘Guardian Yoga Ring’, the Prime Minister said that it is a collaborative exercise between 79 countries and Indian Missions abroad along with United Nations Organizations which portrays the unifying power of Yoga to transcend national borders.
External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar participated in a yoga practice program organized at the Purana Qila in New Delhi on the occasion of International Yoga Day-22 along with members of the diplomatic community, and international and Indian students, among others. The winners of the Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards 2021 have been announced for their outstanding contribution to the development and promotion of Yoga.
The award was awarded at the international individual level to Marcus Vinicius Rojo Rodix of Brazil. At the international organization level, this award went to the British Wheel of Yoga of the United Kingdom and at the national level, the award went to the Leh Ladakh Bhikkhu Sanghasena.
