Nissan India posts 147% domestic wholesale growth as Tekton exports begin

Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd. (NMIPL) reported total wholesale of 9,350 units in August 2026, including 3,426 units in the domestic market and 5,924 units exported to international markets.

Domestic wholesale grew 147% year-on-year, driven by sustained demand for the Magnite and Gravite, along with a strong market response to the all-new Nissan TEKTON SUV.

Nissan also commenced exports of the TEKTON to South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal under its “One Car. One World.” strategy. The company dispatched the first batch of more than 1,300 units, marking the first phase of the SUV’s international rollout from India.

The company said the TEKTON will progressively reach markets across regions, highlighting the competitiveness of products manufactured in India and the growing role of Nissan’s Indian operations within its global network. The export expansion to Nepal and Bhutan also strengthens the SUV’s presence in neighbouring markets.

Nissan Motor India Managing Director Saurabh Vatsa said the encouraging response to TEKTON contributed to August’s strong domestic performance, while exports demonstrated the global competitiveness of vehicles manufactured in India.

Built around Nissan’s SUV DNA, the TEKTON combines Japanese craftsmanship, intelligent technology, performance and practicality. Nissan said the model is expected to play a key role in strengthening its presence across domestic and international markets.
