Nestlé India reported strong financial and operational performance in the second quarter of financial year 2026-27, with total sales rising 20.5% to Rs 6,782.2 crore, driven by robust double-digit volume growth across product groups.
The company’s profit after tax increased 36.3% year-on-year to Rs 1,026.8 crore, while EBITDA margin stood at 23.8%. Domestic sales grew 20.4%, and earnings per share stood at Rs 5.32.
Chairman and Managing Director Manish Tiwary said the company continued to invest in its brands, with advertising and marketing expenditure increasing 46%. He highlighted inflationary pressures, particularly food inflation, and said innovation, productivity and operational efficiencies remained central to managing commodity costs.
Confectionery brands KITKAT, MUNCH and MILKYBAR recorded strong growth, while NESCAFÉ supported momentum in beverages. MAGGI expanded through rural penetration and product innovations. Pet food, Nestlé Professional and e-commerce also delivered robust growth, with quick commerce contributing to online sales.
In Kolkata, the results highlight opportunities for packaged food, beverages and confectionery companies in urban retail and e-commerce. Nestlé India’s emphasis on product innovation, premium offerings and distribution expansion could help strengthen consumer engagement in the city, although inflation and commodity price volatility remain key challenges.
The company also reported strong growth in organised trade and exports, including the launch of MAGGI Masala-ae-Magic in Canada and the expansion of NESCAFÉ Sunrise across five West African markets.
