The musical programme will feature Jayati Chakraborty on October 16, Rupankar Bagchi on October 17, Amit Kumar, son of legendary singer Kishore Kumar, on October 18, and Javed Ali on October 19.

Religious rituals will include Bodhon, Baran, daily puja, Pushpanjali, Sandhi Puja and Kumari Puja, with Maha Bhog served to around 700-800 devotees daily.

The festival will also offer traditional handicrafts, heirlooms, designer Bengali sarees, ethnic jewellery, Bengali sweets and Kolkata street-food favourites such as phuchka and jhalmuri. A traditional fashion show, Dhunuchi dance, and Shankha Dhwani and Ulu Dhwani competitions will add to the festivities.

Through the annual event, NMBA seeks to broaden the reach of Bengali traditions and promote cultural exchange under the message, “When Maa comes home, everyone feels at home.”
