Motorola has expanded its premium smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the motorola edge 70 max, a flagship device powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. Priced at an effective introductory price of Rs 49,999, the smartphone will go on sale from July 20 through Flipkart, Motorola.in and leading retail stores across the country.
The edge 70 max features a 6.8-inch Quad HD+ (2K) LTPO AMOLED display with up to 7,000 nits peak brightness and a 144Hz refresh rate, alongside a 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery supporting 90W TurboPower charging and 25W Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging. The handset also offers up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB storage, a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 primary camera with AI-powered imaging, an aircraft-grade aluminium frame, premium matte glass finish, MIL-STD-810H certification, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and IP68/IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Motorola said the device is the first smartphone to introduce Motorola Qira, its new cross-device AI platform that connects Motorola smartphones with Lenovo PCs and tablets. Running Android 16 with Hello UX, the phone also integrates ThinkShield security, Moto Secure and Smart Connect features for enhanced productivity and device protection.Commenting on the launch, Motorola India Managing Director T.M. Narasimhan said the company has combined flagship performance, AI capabilities, display technology, battery life and premium design to deliver a comprehensive smartphone experience for consumers.In Bhubaneswar, the launch is expected to intensify competition in Odisha’s premium smartphone segment, where demand for AI-enabled flagship devices is steadily rising among professionals, students and technology enthusiasts. With its aggressive pricing and feature-rich specifications, Motorola is likely to strengthen its presence in the city as organised retail outlets and online sales continue to drive premium smartphone adoption.
