V-Guard Industries Ltd has appointed Mithun K. Chittilappilly as Chairperson and Managing Director, effective September 27, 2026, following the completion of RadhaUnni’s second and final term as Chairperson and Independent Director.
Chittilappilly, who joined V-Guard as Executive Director in 2006 and became Managing Director in 2012, has played a key role in transforming the company from a South Indian electrical brand into a diversified pan-India consumer durables major. During his tenure, the company’s turnover rose from around Rs 229 crore in 2006 to Rs 5,966 crore in FY2026, a nearly 24-fold increase.
V-Guard’s workforce has expanded from around 575 employees in 2006 to 11,350 as of August 2026. The company now operates 15 manufacturing facilities across seven states and has a portfolio spanning more than 20 categories.
In Kolkata, the appointment comes as V-Guard continues to strengthen its presence across eastern India, with its broader product portfolio and pan-India distribution network supporting its consumer electrical and durables business.
Chittilappilly said the new responsibility comes at a defining moment as V-Guard approaches its 50th anniversary. He said the focus would be on building on the company’s foundation and preparing it for its next phase of growth.
