Maaza brings traditional mango leaf toran to Bengal’s Pujo celebrations

Coca-Cola India’s mango drink brand, has launched ‘MaazaAamontron’, a festive initiative inspired by Bengal’s traditional mango leaf toran, to celebrate the spirit of invitation, homecoming and hospitality during Durga Puja.

The initiative draws inspiration from the *aamrapallav*, a traditional arrangement of mango leaves displayed at doorways during auspicious occasions to symbolise new beginnings and welcome visitors. Maaza has reimagined the custom as a festive gateway, connecting its mango identity with Bengal’s cultural traditions.

As part of the initiative, visitors can experience the installation at Dum Dum Tarun Dal from October 14 to 20, bringing a familiar household ritual into the wider public celebrations. The company has also used compostable material for the torans, highlighting efforts to incorporate sustainability into festive decorations.

Sunainika Singh, senior director, marketing – Nutrition, Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia, said the initiative sought to extend Bengal’s tradition of welcoming people into the larger canvas of Pujo while exploring sustainable materials for installations.

Maaza will further extend the invitation through a full-page advertisement in a prominent regional newspaper, encouraging readers across West Bengal to participate in the celebrations.

Coca-Cola India operates across multiple beverage categories, including sparkling drinks, juices, hydration and nutrition, through a network of company-owned operations and franchise bottling partners.
