L&T Secures Major Gas, Offshore Contracts Amid West Asia Revival

Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (L&T) has secured 13 orders since early July, including seven from West Asia, signalling a revival in business activity in the region following disruptions caused by the US-Iran conflict. While L&T discloses order values within broad ranges rather than providing exact figures, estimates suggest the company’s average order inflow for the quarter ending September 30 could reach around ₹1.11 trillion, surpassing the ₹1.08 trillion recorded in the previous quarter. Even under a conservative estimate, the new orders could be worth about ₹93,800 crore. West Asia remains a strategically important market for L&T, contributing roughly one-third of its ₹2.86 trillion revenue for the financial year ended March 31. Two major recent contracts from the region, each valued at more than ₹15,000 crore, involve a gas compression project and offshore facilities. Although the company has not disclosed the names of the clients, the large contracts indicate that infrastructure spending in West Asia is gaining momentum again. The fresh order wins come after L&T reported better-than-expected net income for the June quarter, further strengthening the outlook for its engineering and infrastructure businesses. The renewed flow of orders from West Asia highlights the company’s strong regional presence and suggests that infrastructure investment in the region is recovering after a period of uncertainty.
