International Jawa-Yezdi Day (IJYD) marked its 24th edition on July 12, bringing together more than 7,500 riders across over 150 cities in India in one of the world’s longest-running rider-led motorcycle celebrations. The annual event, observed on the second Sunday of July, also witnessed participation from more than 40 enthusiast communities and riders across 11 countries through rides, community gatherings and digital engagements.
What began as a grassroots initiative by Jawa and Yezdi owners has evolved into a global tradition celebrating motorcycling heritage, community spirit and the enduring legacy of the iconic motorcycle brands. Vintage Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles shared the roads with modern models, reflecting the continued appeal of the marques across generations. More than 40 rider clubs, dealerships and independent enthusiast groups collaborated to organise this year’s celebrations.

Kolkata remains one of the key markets for classic motorcycles in eastern India, supported by an active community of vintage motorcycle collectors and touring enthusiasts. The growing popularity of heritage motorcycling events such as International Jawa-Yezdi Day is expected to sustain interest in premium classic motorcycles, encourage community-led riding culture and strengthen demand for lifestyle-focused motorcycling experiences in the region.
