Indian workforce gears up to meet global demand: Dharmendra Pradhan

Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, expressed optimism today as India embarks on a journey to meet global workforce demands and set new benchmarks in skill development. The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), unveiled 15 strategic partnerships with industry leaders, prominent brands, and academic institutions, in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Viksit Bharat by 2047.”

These collaborations, announced during a ceremony attended by key stakeholders including Shri. Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, MSDE; Dr. Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, Chairperson, NCVET; Smt. Trishaljit Sethi, Director General (Training), DGT; and Shri. Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International, signify a concerted effort towards preparing India’s youth for the Future of Work. In his address, Minister Pradhan emphasized the importance of skilling, reskilling, and upskilling, asserting that India’s relentless pursuit of these objectives will render it unstoppable on the global stage. He highlighted the significance of digital initiatives in the skilling ecosystem, facilitating anytime, anywhere learning opportunities for all.

The partnerships forged with industry giants such as Google, Microsoft, Flipkart, and Reliance Foundation aim to enhance the employability prospects of Indian youth across various sectors. Through initiatives like on-the-job training and industry exposure, MSDE and NSDC are equipping students with practical knowledge and skills tailored to meet industry demands.
