Indian Bank conducted financial literacy camps and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities across West Bengal on August 10 as part of its 120th Foundation Day fortnight celebrations. Shri Ashutosh Choudhury, Executive Director, Indian Bank, inaugurated a financial literacy camp at Derozio Memorial College in Rajarhat and addressed the gathering. During the programme, he also handed over skill development kits to beneficiaries under the bank’s CSR initiatives.
Shri Neelmani Bhardwaj, Field General Manager-Kolkata, along with other officials and staff members of Indian Bank, was present at the event. The financial literacy initiative is aimed at creating greater awareness among communities about financial services and responsible financial practices, while the distribution of skill development kits seeks to support beneficiaries in enhancing their livelihood and employability opportunities.
In Kolkata, such initiatives by major public sector banks come at a time when financial inclusion, digital banking awareness and skill development remain important priorities across West Bengal. With Kolkata serving as a major banking and financial centre in eastern India, financial literacy programmes and community-focused CSR activities can help strengthen awareness and access to formal financial services, particularly among young people and underserved sections of society. The activities formed part of Indian Bank’s wider celebrations marking its 120th Foundation Day.
