IDFC FIRST Bank has integrated its payment gateway with the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) collections system, enabling taxpayers across India to pay Direct Taxes through multiple digital and physical channels.
Taxpayers can make payments through UPI, credit cards, debit cards and IDFC FIRST Bank’s Retail and Corporate Internet Banking platforms. Offline payments can also be made at any IDFC FIRST Bank branch through cheque, demand draft or cash. Customers of other banks can use their respective banks’ internet banking facilities through the IDFC FIRST Bank payment gateway. The facility also allows users to access and download challans and payment confirmations.
Mr Shirish Bhandari, Head – Retail Liabilities, Cards & Payments, IDFC FIRST Bank, said the integration provides taxpayers with greater flexibility in choosing their preferred payment mode through a secure platform.
In Guwahati, the facility could provide taxpayers, businesses and professionals with additional options for completing Direct Tax payments digitally, while retaining branch-based payment facilities for those who prefer physical channels.
The bank, one of the private sector banks authorised to collect Direct Tax payments on behalf of CBDT, said the integration strengthens its digital payments infrastructure. As of June 30, 2026, the bank reported customer business of Rs 6,04,776crore, including deposits and loans, with year-on-year growth of around 20 per cent.
