HPCL ramps up fuel and LPG distribution, tightens vigilance amid peak demand surge

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has reinforced its nationwide supply chain with one of its highest distribution cycles, ensuring uninterrupted fuel and LPG availability while enforcing strict discipline across its network.

Between April 1 and 12, the company supplied over 12 lakh KL of fuel, including 4,60,508 KL of petrol and 8,34,126 KL of diesel, signalling robust mobility demand. To support this surge, 80,529 tankers were mobilised, maintaining real-time supply across locations. In the LPG segment, HPCL delivered over 154.2 lakh cylinders, including 3.32 lakh 5 kg and 0.21 lakh 2 kg cylinders to cater to migrant and underserved populations.

Digital adoption remained strong, with 99.5% of LPG bookings made through IVRS, SMS, WhatsApp, and HP PAY platforms, ensuring transparency and efficiency, alongside DAC/OTP-based delivery authentication.

On the enforcement front, HPCL conducted 4,897 inspections and 660 raids between March 14 and April 12, leading to action against 110 distributors, suspension of 30 agencies, 41 FIRs, and seizure of 3,674 cylinders, underlining its zero-tolerance approach.

In Guwahati, steady supplies have kept markets stable despite short-term demand spikes and precautionary buying. Dealers reported consistent availability of fuel and LPG, with no major disruption observed, reflecting HPCL’s strong logistics and distribution efficiency in the region.
