HPCL delivers over 335 lakh LPG cylinders in April, strengthens nationwide supply network

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has delivered more than 335 lakh LPG cylinders across India between April 1 and April 27, 2026, underscoring the company’s ability to maintain uninterrupted cooking gas supply during periods of high demand. The state-run energy major said its extensive LPG infrastructure continues to operate as a “silent backbone” powering millions of households, businesses, and communities across the country. The supply chain, supported by bottling plants, distributors, and delivery networks, handled over 1,97,149 tanker dispatches during the period, including 10,505 tankers on April 27 alone.

HPCL also expanded access to affordable energy solutions by supplying over 7.17 lakh Free Trade LPG cylinders of 5 kg capacity and more than 26,000 cylinders of 2 kg capacity, catering to migrant workers, small businesses, and low-consumption households. The company said 99.3 per cent of LPG bookings are now made through digital platforms, enabling real-time demand tracking, faster booking processing, and improved delivery coordination.

In Guwahati, LPG distributors and retailers said stable supplies have helped maintain uninterrupted availability of domestic cylinders despite rising household demand. Industry observers noted that the smooth supply chain has supported both urban and semi-urban consumers in Assam, where dependence on LPG for household cooking continues to grow steadily. HPCL also intensified vigilance measures, conducting 6,096 inspections between March 14 and April 27. The company took action against 166 distributors, including 34 suspensions, while carrying out 664 raids and seizing 4,155 LPG cylinders to curb irregularities in distribution.
