Digital investing is gaining ground in Assam, with Groww accounting for more than 20 per cent of the state’s active investor base on the NSE as of June 2026, the investment platform said. The figure means around one in every five active investors in Assam invests through Groww.
The development comes amid growing digital connectivity, smartphone adoption and financial awareness across the Northeast. Groww users account for nearly 24 per cent of the NSE investor base of 36.31 lakh across the region’s eight states. Sikkim recorded the highest share at 41 per cent, followed by Arunachal Pradesh at 40 per cent and Tripura at 37 per cent.
In Assam, about 25 per cent of Groww investors are below 25 years of age, while nearly 30 per cent are aged between 25 and 30. Investors above 30 account for 45 per cent. Women constitute around 20 per cent of Groww’s investor base in the state.
In Guwahati, the figures point to increasing acceptance of digital investment platforms among younger investors and a broader shift towards app-based access to stocks, mutual funds and other financial products.
Groww offers mutual funds, stocks, IPOs, trading, commodities, MTF, bonds and wealth management solutions. It has also expanded advanced trading tools such as option chains, charts and terminal-based trading for active market participants.
