Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) has marked the 25th anniversary of its Chennai manufacturing facility and announced continued investments in its Chennai and Bengaluru plants to strengthen automation, innovation and next-generation warehousing infrastructure in India.
The company said the Chennai facility has evolved into a major manufacturing and engineering hub over the past two and a half decades, supporting India’s growing logistics and warehousing sector. Backed by more than 70 years of expertise in intralogistics, the business is focusing on automation-led manufacturing, precision engineering and digital design-to-delivery systems to meet rising demand from e-commerce, quick commerce and manufacturing industries.
According to the company, the facility is among the largest intralogistics manufacturing units in the region and produces high-precision systems that support automated and high-density warehousing operations. The investments are expected to improve execution speed, precision and scalability for large-scale projects.
VikasChoudaha, Business Head, Storage Solutions, Godrej Enterprises Group, said the warehousing sector is witnessing strong growth, with annual absorption crossing nearly 39 million sq. ft. He noted that one in every three warehouses in India is powered by Godrej racking solutions and that the business has recorded a CAGR of 17 per cent over the past five years.
In Guwahati, the expansion is significant as the Northeast is increasingly emerging as a logistics and distribution gateway for trade with Southeast Asia. Growing warehousing demand in and around Guwahati is expected to benefit from advanced storage and automation solutions that improve supply-chain efficiency and support regional industrial growth.
The company exports intralogistics solutions to more than 40 countries across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, ASEAN and Australia, and said it will continue focusing on automation, digital transformation and sustainability to strengthen India’s supply-chain competitiveness.
