GNRC Dedicates COVID Care units at the service of people


GNRC, the leading and premier super speciality hospital of Northeast India have come forward with dedicated COVID care units for the people of Assam and Northeast. Known for its various pioneering efforts to better the healthcare scenario in Northeast India, now GNRC has dedicated two COVID Care units at the service for the people of this region.
Currently, there are almost 22,000 COVID-19 cases in Assam and it is expected that the number might increase in the days to come. In such a scenario, it is expected that the private healthcare facilities should join hands with the state government to manage this pandemic situation. Private healthcare institutions of the region need to rise to the occasion to mitigate this devastation caused by Coronavirus. This is noteworthy to mention here that Dr Nomal Chandra Borah, Founder- Affordable Health Mission and GNRC had already made an announcement in social media on March 25 offering 500 beds to the state government if the need arises.
Continuing the promise to create a healthy and better society free of diseases, now GNRC has made operational two COVID units in Assam at its Good Health unit at Dispur and North Guwahati unit.
GNRC-Good Health Clinic (which is based near the GNRC Dispur and Sixmile units) has been converted into fully functional indoor facilities along with ICU unit for COVID patients. An entire block of GNRC Medical – North Guwahati has been converted into a COVID Care facility. However, the rest of the hospital premises of GNRC North Guwahati will be open for the public to avail treatment with non-COVID ailments at affordable rates. Similarly, the GNRC – Dispur and Sixmile units shall continue to serve patients suffering from non-COVID related ailments.
