Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, actors Alia Bhatt, Rami Malek, Sonam Kapoor and Simone Ashley, and singer Shreya Ghoshal will join filmmaker Karan Johar for The Earthshot Prize 2026 Awards Night in Mumbai on November 17, with Prime Video announced as the exclusive global streaming partner.
The event, sponsored by the Serum Institute of India, will bring together 5,000 distinguished guests to celebrate environmental leadership. The ceremony will be streamed across more than 240 countries and territories in over 40 languages, marking the first time the awards will reach a global audience through Prime Video.
Founded by Prince William in 2020, The Earthshot Prize recognises scientists, entrepreneurs, community changemakers, indigenous leaders and young innovators developing solutions to environmental challenges. Earthshot Ambassadors Robert Irwin and Nomzamo Mbatha will also join the event, while Ghoshal is scheduled to deliver a live performance.
The 2026 edition features 15 finalists working on climate and environmental solutions, with five winners to be announced across categories covering nature restoration, clean air, ocean conservation, waste reduction and climate action. Each winner will receive £1 million to advance or scale their solutions.
Karan Johar said hosting the awards in Mumbai was a privilege, adding that the event would celebrate innovators and changemakers working towards a sustainable future.
Kara Hurst, Chief Sustainability Officer at Amazon, said the company was proud to support the initiative and bring the finalists’ achievements to audiences worldwide. More participating stars are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
