At least three people have died and several other workers have fallen ill after a gas leak at Durgapur Steel Plant in West Bengal. Unwell workers have been taken to a local hospital where their conditions was stated to be stable. West Bengal health department on Sunday reported an all-time high of 24,287 new cases of Covid-19 infections, the highest since the first wave of infections hit the country in 2020.
