Kerala Transport Minister Antony Raju has claimed that since the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) cameras, the death rate in road accidents has come down in the state. The AI cameras installed across the state became operational on June 5. "Kerala reports an average of 12 road accident deaths per day, but since the introduction of AI cameras, the number has come down to 5-8," Minister Raju said on Friday. In the first four days since installation, 3,52,730 traffic violations were detected by the cameras.
