Outrage in Gangtok as stray dog shot dead, activists demand justice

A white stray dog, aged between 3-4 years, was shot and killed by an unknown assailant on Kazi Road, Gangtok, on July 19. The incident has sparked outrage among animal rights activists and the local community. The grim discovery was made by a local resident who informed People For Animals (PFA), Sikkim, an NGO chaired by Ms. Maneka Gandhi. 16 Army soldiers died, 4 injured in road accident in Sikkim

Sixteen Army soldiers died and four others were wounded after their vehicle slided down a steep slope close to North Sikkim on Friday. The vehicle was part of a three-vehicle convoy that was driving from Chatten in the morning towards Thangu.
