Anupama Das a teacher took the initiative to help students from economically backward families who were not able to buy sweaters during the winter season but were forced to come to school in cotton uniforms provided by the government. Police inspection for madrasas teacher in Assam

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma directed Assam Police to hold inspection for teachers who came from outside Assam to teach Madrasas . The teachers will have to appear in nearby police station from time to time when asked. According to the reports, police cracked down on alleged modules of terrorist organisation Ansarul Bangla Team, and 51 Bangladeshis were discovered among the preachers at Madrasas. There are about 3,000 registered and unregistered madrassas in Assam. A checklist is prepared for Madrasas and also the state is to enter into an agreement with stakeholder of Assam.

Assam Government approved the merger of four districts

On Saturday, four districts were merged with the approval of the Assam Government. These districts were too curved out in recent years originally. According to the sources, before the Election Commission’s ban on any new administrative unit in Assam from January 1 until the completion of the delimitation exercise these districts were merged. The EC announced the delimitation process of Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies in Assam on December 27. Illegal transportation of beef in Assam; arrested

On Friday, three men in Dibrugarh, Assam got arrested for illegally transporting bags of beef. Under Cattle Preservation (Amendment) Act, 2021 three of them were charged and arrested along with their chopping knives. The accused were identified as as Imran Ali, Miraz Khan and Younus Khan.
