Hailstorm destroyed houses and affected areas of Assam

Districts of upper Assam people are facing massive hailstorm in which many houses, corps were destroyed. According to the sources, 4,500 houses were destroyed. Almost 18,000 families are facing difficulties and government is trying to provide the requirements of the victim. The districts that have faced hailstorm are Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Charaideo and Sivasagar, according to Assam Disaster Management. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has decided to revamp the boundaries of assembly and parliamentary constituencies of Assam. According to sources, 14 years after the exercise was put on hold because of legal hurdles. The last delimitation in the state was done in 1976 bases on the 1971 census. Battery acid attack in Assam

A 17-year-old girl was attacked with battery acid allegedly by a 20-year-old man in Assam’s Barpeta. This was the second such incident reported in Assam in the past three days. According to initial investigations shows that the victim and the accused were in a relationship and the girl broke up with the man recently. A leopard was seen in Assam attacked 13 people

On Monday, a leopard was found moving freely around the campus of Rain Forest Research Institute (RFRI) in Jorhat, Assam. Many Videos and pictures are shared on social media of the leopard. According to the sources, the leopard injured 13 people including three forest personnel and 10 residents of Chenijan area. Residents informed the forest official. Forest personnel made several attempts to tranquilise the leopard but the big cat is still at large and efforts are underway to track the animal. Sarbananda Sonowal’s alma meter golden jublee celebration

On Saturday, Dibrugarh Bindhakata High School celebrated golden jubilee which is alma mater of Union Minister and former CM Sarbananda Sonowal. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also attended the celebration. During the event CM Himanta Biswa inaugurated some project for better improvement of the district.
