On Friday, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar announced that people of Meghalaya living in disputed area of Assam can vote for Meghalaya election. “People living in villages along the disputed border can participate in the elections despite what has happened. On Wednesday, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said the Assam government will conduct the state-wide exercise 'Gunotsava 2023' to assess the performance of around 43 lakh students studying in over 44,500 schools. A Bajrang Dal worker named Sambhu Kairi was killed near Karimganj on Saturday. Kairi was returning to Karimganj district after attending a three-day training camp of Bajrang Dal in neighboring Hailakandi district.
