On Wednesday, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said the Assam government will conduct the state-wide exercise 'Gunotsava 2023' to assess the performance of around 43 lakh students studying in over 44,500 schools. According to sources, the assessment will begin from January 18 to February 18 with the help of the education department to improve learning outcomes. A Bajrang Dal worker named Sambhu Kairi was killed near Karimganj on Saturday. Kairi was returning to Karimganj district after attending a three-day training camp of Bajrang Dal in neighboring Hailakandi district. Police said that one person involved in the murder has been arrested. Further investigation is underway. The situation in the area is critical, sources said.
