A woman kills her husband and mother-in-law

A woman in Assam killed her husband and mother-in-law and transported pieces of the bodies packed in polythene to Meghalaya. According to the sources, the incident took place last year between August-September by the woman, her lover and their friends together. On Monday, Santosh Jaiswal came across a bike lifter in Assam's Charideo district. According to sources, Jaiswal was a seasoned bike lifter who was convicted under the Arms Act. The victim was missing for the past two years. On February 19, the police received intelligence and discovered that the accused was at sonari at his in-laws' house. Massive fire broke out at Jorhat, Assam

A massive fire broke out at Jorhat, Chow Bazaar, Assam, no casualty reported during the outbreak, Police informed. According to sources, 150 shops were destroyed and 25 fire tenders reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The fire is suspected to have started from an electrical short circuit in a shop, which quickly spread to the crowded market. MV Ganga Vilas cruise ship reaches Assam today

The world’s largest cruise, MV Ganga Vilas ship has reached Assam today, Friday. The cruise has been travelling to Assam after completing its journey from Bangladesh. According to the sources, the cruise has reached Dhubri along the India-Bangladesh border and will float towards Dibrugarh which is expected to reach by March 1. MV Ganga Vilas will travel for 13 days in Assam and halt at Dhubri, Jogighopa, Pandu (Guwahati), Kaziranga and Majuli before ending the journey at Dibrugarh. Jails set up for accomodation for short term
