Meghalaya police submits report on illegal coke plant setting

An order was directed to the police in Meghalaya to find people behind setting illegal coke plant in the state. According to investigation, from Shallang area of West Khasi Hills most of the illegal coke plants operators are Assam based, police informed High Court of Meghalaya.  Also it was found that the land on which the illegal coke oven plant were operating belong to 32 persons, all of whom were females and mostly aged women. Gas loaded tanker caught fire

On Wednesday, a gas loaded tanker met with an accident near Assam’s Sonapur area in Kamrup districts. According to the reports, the accident took place due leakage gas from the gas tanker bearing registration number AS-01FC-5453. The tanker caught into fire, immediately fire service personnel were rushed in the spot. A local police detailed about the incident saying, “The tanker was coming from Guwahati. No matric examination will be conduct in the state Assam; schools will now administer internal exams in order to advance students to the next level.
