Assam cabinet approves 135 crore for Cancer hospitals

A meeting presided by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma with state cabinet has decided to release 135 crore for construction of Cancer hospitals in Assam. According to the discussion, the sum will be handed to Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) for constructing 10 cancer hospitals. For the first phase, the amount will be released to hospitals being built in Silchar, Guwahati and Diphu. In the second phase, seven cancer hospitals will come up in Dhubri, Nalbari, Goalpara, Golaghat, Nagaon, Sivasagar and Tinsukia.
