Assam cabinet approves 135 crore for Cancer hospitals

A meeting presided by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma with state cabinet has decided to release 135 crore for construction of Cancer hospitals in Assam. According to the discussion, the sum will be handed to Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) for constructing 10 cancer hospitals. For the first phase, the amount will be released to hospitals being built in Silchar, Guwahati and Diphu. In the second phase, seven cancer hospitals will come up in Dhubri, Nalbari, Goalpara, Golaghat, Nagaon, Sivasagar and Tinsukia. MLA Aftabuddin Mollah arrested by Assam Police

Assam Congress MLA Aftabuddin Mollah, during a public event accused Hindu priest, holy person with offensive comments, due to which the MLA was arrested by Assam Police. According to the reports, the MLA got arrested under Sections 295(a), 153A (1) (b), and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Dispur Police Station. Hydro power project threatens Assam’s white-winged duck

Recently, a document was published by Assam Forest and Environment Minister for conservation of the bird species in which it came into notice that the construction of large dams in Arunachal Pradesh for hydro power projects, is found to be threats to white-winged duck, an endangered duck species and Assam's state bird. Assam man kills his coworker with a stick

In Assam’s Hojai district,news caught attention about a bakery employee of Ruchi Bakery killed his coworker in Abhaypur region of the district. According to the sources, the accused is identified as Dhaneswar Deka, Upen Kari. The cause of the crime is not yet ascertained by police, investigation is still on its way.
