The Union Health Ministry on Saturday released an updated clinical management protocol for COVID-19 cases. This includes the advice to use Dexamethasone as an alternative to Methylprednisolone for managing moderate to severe cases. “The change has been made after considering the latest available evidence and expert consultation,” noted a senior official of the Ministry. Tirupur North police station closed after wife of SI tests positive for Covid-19.

The North Police station at nearby Tirupur was closed temporarily on Saturday as a woman SI, wife of a sub-inspector there, tested positive. The wife, a sub-inspector attached to Chennai, had come to Tirupur on June 24 on leave and her blood and swab samples were taken the next day, along with that of her husband, police said. While the woman tested positive, her husband tested negative, following which the police station was closed early Saturday. Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 on the Richter scale hit 332 km Northeast of Jammu and Kashmir's Hanle on Saturday. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the tremors were felt in the area at 12:32 hours today. Ammonia gas leak at factory in Kurnool district, one dead.

One person was killed in a gas leak that took place in a company in Andhra Pradesh's Nandyal area of Kurnool district. Three employees have been admitted to the hospital while one died unfortunately. the collector has issued a statement, stating that the gas was spread inside the company and not outside.
